Evan's Testimony (as told by his dad)

Evan

My daughter Taylor (see "Taylor's Testimony " above) is back in college full time and also back to work.

My son Evan is getting off Hospital:Homebound Virtual School and starting high school this year. He was accepted into the Beta Engineering Academy and the Collegiate Program, as a freshman. It's freakin amazing. A year ago my kids couldn't get out of bed. I honestly just donated Evan's wheelchair because I never want to see it again.

Ever since Evan was four, besides the IBS, his legs always hurt him. Doctors of course could never explain it. I used to rent him a wheelchair if we went to an amusement park, otherwise the day would end with him crying in pain. When I emailed Annette, she highly encouraged me to start Evan on the guaifenesin protocol because he already exhibited symptoms and was concerned the fibromyalgia would just progress.

When Evan started the Protocol in 2017, it was mainly because his IBS was so bad. He had what doctors were calling a stomach virus every week. Just saying this, I realize how ridiculous that was. He's now 14. Since 2nd grade, he had diarrhea, awful stomach pain and vomiting for at least 2 days out of every week. He missed so much school. I had him go through the typical tests, even though I knew it was Fibro. After the tests I started him on The Protocol. His IBS, was the first to clear about 15 months ago. He has not had any stomach issues since.

Please see the two attached videos.

The first video was just a few days before he became completely bedridden. He would cry with pain just to turn over in bed. The first year on the Protocol there were so many symptoms that came out, I was unaware of how many issues Fibro could cause. His IBS was so bad for about a month that I was taking him to the ER every night fighting for Morphine, as it was the only thing that would help him. He completely cleared his IBS, then it was his head pain. I use that term, as headache or even migraine is an understatement. We had the same nightly Emergency room routine with that. Then he cleared that. There were so many times when it seemed that he would never get well.

First video...

Evan was walking with a walker. He still had so much pain in his legs 24/7 for two years. He starts high school in August and I was getting worried, because I couldn't see how he would ever make it to school, so I doubled his dose the second week of June. On June 30th, he woke and said, "Dad, I have no pain, no pain at all. Dad... my legs don't hurt, nothing hurts." He broke down. He said he wanted to try to walk without his walker. I held him and slowly eased him into it. He has not been able to hold himself up for 2 years now. 2 long years!

In the second video, I cannot believe I have my son back. He went from barely walking to running overnight. It's so crazy! The second day, (in the 2nd video) he asked to go for a walk in the park. I hid his basketball in my car and pulled right up to the courts (he used to always play basketball before the onset of fibro). He looked at me and said, "Dad, this is only my 2nd day, it's going to kill me." I told him that I'd run after the ball and we'd take it easy. Minutes later he was having a great time. You can see in the video that he would do a slow strut. He actually had to re-learn how to walk.

Second video...

He is also down 42 lbs so far, so everything is looking up. I can't believe this transformation. He works out every morning with no problem at all. I cleared out my front living room to make it into a home gym for him. He keeps losing more and more weight. I'm beyond thankful.

I knew Guai worked by how well Taylor has gotten, but Evan took so long to clear that if I didn't already know that Guai works, I may have given up. I'm also so proud of him. He really hung on with the Protocol.

I really hope this can help some people out. Watching him go through this was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. At times it seemed that the Protocol may not work for him, but as long as he was on board, we didn't give up and it really paid off.

For a long time I was feeling that all the things he and we used to do were a thing of the past. I just can't believe it. Over two years later and we're on our annual camping and New York City trip again, and having an awesome time.

Few post notes as shared with Annette: I have my son back. We packed up for 2 weeks. We're catching up with camping, visiting family we haven't seen in over two years, doing amusement parks and as I write this we're in Times Square, New York . We've walked so much, that I'm now the one who can't do anymore. Lol! We just got out of Moulin Rouge. I'm standing on 45th Street in New York watching my son jump over everyone to get autographs for his sister. Lol.

By the way, I'm ecstatic that he will be starting high school next month. It's completely amazing.

Last night I was able to take me time and go out. Figured Evan would be asleep by the time I got home. At 1 AM him and Taylor were hanging out in her room laughing, joking and he was doing his little crazy dances that he always did. It was so good seeing this. I've been a blubbering idiot for weeks watching life unfold for him. He also hangs out with friends and plays basketball again. He lost 47lbs already so far and plans to join the basketball team again. I see my son back in his face. That's the big thing. I see that glow and the happiness is overwhelming for me. I can't believe where he came from and where he's at now.

I love sharing my son's story because we were where a lot of people are now. Guai does work. It will get better. Keep with the Protocol and don't lose faith. Easier said then done, but the benefits are beyond worth it.
